2017年8月28日，“中国当代水墨年鉴2016-2017”项目正式启动，本次项目包括“中国当 contemporary Watercolor Annual Exhibition (2016-2017)”, “China Contemporary Watercolor Annual Theme Exhibition (2016-2017)” and the large-scale book "China Contemporary Watercolor Annual 2016-2017". The exhibition part will be held at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts University Town Art Museum on October 26, 2023.

The "China Contemporary Watercolor Annual" project was initiated in 2009, and this year's event is a continuation of last year's success. Last year's opening ceremony, "China Contemporary Watercolor Annual Exhibition (2008-2009) & China Contemporary Watercolor Annual Book Launch", took place on June 11th at Beijing Today Art Museum No.2 Hall.
